Response to Parks Canada's Announcement on
Nonmotorized Watercraft Restrictions
Parks Canada's recently announced on March 19th restrictions on non-motorized watercraft’s on Waterton Lakes National Park. Blakiston empathizes with the disappointment this news may bring to our valued locals and community. While we understand the necessity of such measures to preserve the delicate balance of our natural environment, we share your passion for enjoying the beauty of the majestic waterways in Waterton Lakes National Park.
In light of these changes, Blakiston maintains it’s commit to support the local community by implementing several initiatives to ensure continued access to recreational opportunities on the lake. We recognize the significance of providing affordable and accessible options for Southern Alberta residents.
Here are some of our initial offerings to keep water activities affordable and safe:
- Local Deals: We will be offering significant discounts exclusively for local Southern Alberta residents. *Show your drivers license to ensure you get these special offers! For online bookings call for our deal.
- Inventory Expansion and Improvement: Due to our 10 year anniversary this year we have already been increasing and enhancing our inventory of watercraft’s to provide a wider range of options for lake enthusiasts.
- Extended Hours: Our operating hours will be extended to accommodate the needs of regular attendees, allowing for more flexibility in scheduling lake activities.
- Prices will not increase: We will maintain our prices at their regular rate and encourage others to do the same.
- Free local giveaways: Paddle contests and giveaways will happen throughout the season.
Blakiston remains steadfast in our mission to build offerings that inspire people to adventure and explore Waterton Lakes National Park and beyond. We promote both environmental stewardship and community engagement, and we thank you for your continued support of our family run business. It’s been our pleasure serving you these past 10 years in efforts to help everyone be a little more active in nature and create memories that last a lifetime.
Sincerely,
