Bio: I am a true Southern Albertan, born and raised. My life revolves around children. I spend my days working within the walls of a school. When people ask my age I always hesitate since it always changes. I know my age in comparison to my husband and two children, so today I am 33.

Favourite Music: Anything that makes me want to move, from oldies to the current top-100. My children have been known to belt out Bif Naked's “ I Love Myself Today” while hiking.

Comfort Food: I am a steak and potatoes kind of gal. A baked potato is my all time favourite food.

How I Wash Away Stress: I curl up with a good book and a cup of tea or glass of white wine in front of our wood-burning fireplace.

Favourite View In All My Travels: Hawaii was amazing with beaches, volcanos and the ocean right outside our door! But the Canadian rocky mountains are something that I can view out my window and makes me want to explore everyday. Waterton will always be my favourite place; it carries memories, breathtaking views and amazing people.

Cherished Childhood Memory: I grew up along the Old Man River in Southern Alberta. Our whole life was looking for wildlife and exploring the natural prairie that surrounded us. I was lucky to have a brother and sister that took me along; playing on the hillsides, avoiding cactus, scoping out rattle snakes, searching for beavers in the Old Man River, swimming in the ditch and drinking from our fresh underground stream.

Dream Retirement: Constantly exploring by living and moving from one little remote place to another.

Advice I Would Give To People Looking To Travel: Stop talking about exploring our magnificent world and start today! We can find adventures close to home. I find many people seem to want to explore in far off corners of the world. That is great but I think that it's easy to skip what we have close by and take the local wonders for granted.

Fat Biking Adventures

We made our way out to Castle Mountain ski resort for a day of boarding for the kids.

They headed off so Vince and I wandered around planning on getting our stuff for snowshoeing.

As we were wandering around we were checking out all the demos; mostly of skis and some snowboards. We stopped and eyed the fat bikes, at that moment we must have been like little kids.
