Bio: I was born and raised in the prairies of Medicine Hat in Southern Alberta and currently reside in Lethbridge. During my work week in marketing I play with graphic design, websites, photography and social media.

Favorite Music:
Radiohead while editing, CBC at work, hip hop in the gym, Tool for whenever and anything with a slide guitar.

Comfort Food: I'm a vegan and an ultra lazy cook. So whenever anyone cooks any sort of vegan meal, I'm happy. Other than that, chocolate soy milk rules the world.

What Animal Would I Be And Why: Definitely a bear. As a huge, furry, 4x4 machine, you could high through forests, swim in lakes and see everything that trail-bound humans aren't privy to. Bears could also survive on a purely vegan diet, so bonus!

How I Wash Away Stress:
It's pretty rare that I have a need to destress, but if I did I would play guitar, wrestle with my dogs, hangout with my girlfriend or go to the gym. But relaxing is something I'm terrible at.

Favourite View In All My Travels: My favourite view is always the view from the hike that I am currently on.

Cherished Childhood Memory: My parents took my brother and I on vacation to Yellowstone when I was young and to this day I can still readily recall a clear visual memory of the vivid paint pots and spewing of Old Faithful. I also got stung directly on the nose while there, a pain which I also haven't forgotten.

Dream Retirement: To be able to continue on adventures at the same pace that I do now (or more), but to share those adventures with my future children.

Advice I Would Give To People Looking To Travel: Just get outside. Walk your local paths. Play in your local parks. Travel further if/when you can. Collect all the memories, big and small.

The Progression Of Bertha: A Three-Part Hiking Test in Waterton Lakes National Park

Named after an early resident of Waterton, Bertha Ekelund, the Bertha-series of hikes provides the perfect trifecta to challenge your hiking abilities.

Beginning with Bertha Falls, progressing through Bertha Lake and culminating at Bertha Peak, there is a hike to both suit and challenge the needs of all; from basic beginnings to scrambling summits.
